The Experimental Aircraft Association is world-renowned for its commitment to general aviation. The international organization is widely acclaimed for producing two of the largest airshows in the world - AirVenture in OshKosh, WI and Sun'n Fun in Lakeland, FL.

The local Akron chapter of EAA meets at Airspace Place on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:00-9:00pm. Various aviation subject matters are presented from homebuilts to production aircraft. Additionally the group helps co-host various social events at the Akron-Fulton Airport.

The Young Eagles program provides free airplane rides for boys and girls ages 8-17 so they may experience flying.

Young Eagles flights begin with an explanation of how airplanes fly and an explanation of the various systems and components.
